Woo Hoo! Dash Blog is up and running

Many thanks to Ramblin Lamb Photography and Sean Watson for the images shown here. You guys rock!

It's about time for the 4th Annual Deception Pass Dash, set for December 12th, starting at 11am in Bowman Bay, Deception Pass State Park, Washington. The third annual featured epic conditions including ocean swell punching all the way into Canoe Pass to create some awesome standing waves; mixing wind and current for giant confused seas around Deception Island; and some fine cuisine and unprecedented hospitality provided by your host crew from Outdoor Adventure Center.

Sign up for this year's Dash at OAC's registration page -- or email deceptionpassdash@gmail.com to volunteer as a safety boater, timer, or smiling check-in & hospitality host.

See you out there... now enjoy some of last year's pics...

Nearly 130 boats hit the starting line in the 3rd annual Dash last year. What a scene! Surfskis, Outriggers, Sea Kayaks, and even one intrepid dude shooting pictures from the cockpit of his Sit-on-top pedal boat.

John Sindelar got up close and personal with the gorgeous big waves in Canoe Pass. Thanks to Sean for gettin out there and all precarious on the ledge overlooking that big wave.

Those big swells ran all the way down the Strait til they hit that building ebb at Canoe Pass, just in time for all those racers to get a good look at them after making the far turn around Strawberry Island.

After that fun ride punching through the big clean waves in the Pass, this racer found some real adventure where the confusion of a messy current ran into a stiff West wind. Yeeeehaw!

Warren Williamson joined a hungry bunch of boaters on the beach, racking up their rides, munching burgers and picking raffle prizes from over $5,000 worth of schwag handed over by our sponsors from the outdoor industry. Thanks!
